While I daydream about my next California trip with Michele and Sarah (August!), I'll calm the restlessness a little with photos from our 2013 trip to the Santa Ynez Valley near Santa Barbara.

| We stayed in a yurt at a campsite on a lake. |

We went to picturesque vineyards (Lincourt, Sunstone, and Rancho Sisquoc).

We lit fires and played board games at night, and kayaked on the lake in the morning.

And ate in Solvang and Santa Barbara.

It's probably offensive to wine connoisseurs, but I would pick Santa Ynez over Napa if given the choice. Santa Ynez felt much more relaxed, and my palette isn't refined enough to appreciate Napa wines any more than the ones I had on this trip.
